Natchez-Adams Taxiway B Medium Intensity Taxiway Lighting and Beacon Replacement
Michael Baker International
This project involves the replacement of the Medium Intensity Taxiway Lighting (MITL) system for Taxiway Bravo, including approximately 110 base-mounted edge lights, new conduits, and new cables. The project also includes the replacement of the airport beacon, reusing the existing beacon pole. Modifications to the electrical vault are also required, including the installation of a new S-1 cutout for the Taxiway B circuit and rewiring to create a standalone circuit. The contractor will be responsible for disposing of removed materials, with the owner retaining approximately 20 existing light fixtures and the existing beacon. The project is funded under the Airport and Airway Safety and Capacity Act of 1987 and is subject to various federal requirements, including Davis Bacon Act, Affirmative Action, Copeland Act, Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises participation (6.0% goal), Buy American Preferences, and others. Bidders must be licensed contractors in Mississippi and indicate their Certificate of Responsibility number. The estimated engineer's cost for the base bid is between $570,000 and $625,000, with an additional $30,000 to $40,000 for Additive Alternative 1. Liquidated damages are set at $1,000 per day.
