Engineering Design Services for Chlorine Conversion Project
City of Calexico
The City of Calexico is requesting proposals from qualified engineering professionals to provide design services for a project that will convert its water disinfection system from gaseous chlorine to a 12.5% bulk sodium hypochlorite system. This conversion is driven by concerns over the toxicity of chlorine gas and its proximity to residential and commercial areas, schools, and the international border. The scope of work includes project management, feasibility studies, preliminary design, detailed plans and specifications, regulatory agency coordination, public meetings, bidding support, and construction phase services. All services must comply with federal, state, and local laws, including prevailing wage rates and consultant registration requirements with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
