Hemmens Cultural Center Lobby Interior Update

The City of Elgin is seeking proposals for the renovation and upgrade of the lobby of The Hemmens Cultural Center. This project includes interior design services, the development of full construction documents, and potentially construction administration. The scope of work involves carpet replacement, repainting and refinishing of lobby walls, columns, radiator covers, and wooden surfaces. Additionally, the project includes repurposing existing spaces such as the box office into a control room, the coatroom into a beverage service space, and the will-call room into a merchandise sales area. The selected firm will also address structural, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to accommodate the renovation and potential expansion. The project is divided into three phases: determining existing factors and schematic design, final design development and construction documentation, and bidding and construction administration.
