Invitation for Dallas County Special Public Defender Services

The Missouri State Public Defender (MSPD) is seeking bids from qualified attorneys to provide comprehensive criminal defense representation to qualifying clients as a Special Public Defender in Dallas County. The contract will require the selected attorney to handle all aspects of criminal defense from case opening through final disposition, including appearances at all criminal dockets. Qualifications include demonstrated experience in criminal law, familiarity with MSPD policies, past work with MSPD, and proximity to Dallas County. The contract is for a one-year term with an option for renewal, with monthly payments and reimbursement for approved litigation expenses and mileage. Bids can be submitted for coverage of sex cases, exclusion of sex cases, or both, but will exclude homicide cases. The estimated caseload for Dallas County is provided, including breakdowns of felony and misdemeanor offenses.
