Highway Vegetation Maintenance

DuPage County is soliciting bids for highway vegetation maintenance services for the years 2026-2028. The scope of work includes a variety of landscape maintenance tasks across numerous county highways and easements. Key services required include pruning of shade, ornamental, and evergreen trees, as well as shrubs. The contract also specifies spade edging for existing and new beds, cleaning and weeding of mulched plant beds, and supplemental mulching. Weed control will be performed along rights-of-way and paths, with pre-emergent and non-selective applications. Additionally, the contract covers tree removal of various sizes, shrub removal, pest and disease control for trees and shrubs, and supplemental watering. Tree removal services will be performed in accordance with standard specifications, with specific considerations for bat pup season. All debris from pruning and removal operations must be cleaned up and disposed of daily. The contract also outlines requirements for traffic control and protection, insurance, and dust control.
