The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is soliciting quotes for hand-thinning with chainsaws to remove undesirable trees and branches, and pile the resulting slash. This service is intended to reduce the risk of wildland fires across approximately 567.8 base acres, with an option for an additional 447.7 acres. The work involves cutting pinon or juniper trees less than 15 feet tall, smaller ponderosa pines less than 5 inches in diameter at breast height (DBH), and limbing larger trees to eliminate ladder fuels. Slash will be piled according to specific size and placement requirements. The period of performance is 120 days from the Notice to Proceed, with a potential start date of August 15, 2026, and a possible extension through May 15, 2027, due to inclement weather or wildlife restrictions. This requirement is set aside for small businesses and will be awarded on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) basis.
