]opw 55131: compost relocation - phase 2
The City of Omaha is soliciting bids for the construction of a permanent Compost Operations building, including the installation of a scale, utilities, and site paving. This project involves significant site grading, excavation, and fill work to prepare the area for Phase 1 and future project phases. The scope of work includes constructing the building, scale, utilities, and paving, as well as demolition and removal of existing baseball fields and any buried infrastructure. A key component is the construction of a stormwater basin with a clay liner, concrete retaining wall, and associated drainage piping. The project also requires the installation of new site utilities, including sanitary sewer lines, storm sewer lines, electrical and fiber optic lines, gas lines, and water lines. The City of Omaha has a Small & Emerging Small Business (SEB) reserve for this project, requiring bidders to disclose their participation plans. Furthermore, the project qualifies for an Apprentice Utilization incentive, and bidders must submit an Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP) and a City of Omaha Class A or B Contractor License.
