Police Service Horse Purchase

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) is seeking to purchase a police service horse. The ideal candidate is a draft-cross breed, standing between 16-17 hands high, and aged between 4 to 8 years old. The horse should be saddle-broke and have training experience in driving, saddling, and sensory exposure to environments such as traffic and equipment, making it suitable for mounted patrol work. A 30-day health and workability guarantee will be provided by the vendor, with a preference for the horse to be located within 110 miles of Duval County for evaluation prior to purchase. The total contract price for the horse is $15,000.00, payable in full upon acceptance.
