Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential vendors capable of providing specialized engineering services. The primary focus is on the design, testing, and fabrication of modifications for microfabricated, electrical-substitution bolometers. These services will support new applications, including vicarious calibration of Earth remote sensing satellites and operation at different optical power levels and wavelengths. The contractor will be expected to provide engineering consulting, develop new requirements, examine concepts of operation, and modify existing electronics designs for amplifier, interface, and wire bond boards. This includes fabricating and testing an engineering unit of the modified design. The period of performance is anticipated to be from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. NIST is seeking capability statements from all responsible sources, both large and small businesses, to determine the acquisition method and potential for small business set-asides.
