Description

The City of Pasadena, through its Department of Water and Power (PWP), is soliciting proposals for a distributed energy resource (DER) rooftop wind turbine project. This initiative aims to design, engineer, permit, procure materials, develop construction bid specifications, and establish a maintenance plan for a wind turbine system with a minimum output of 5 kW. The project is intended to be installed on a municipally owned building at the City Maintenance Yards, with the ultimate goal of PWP operating the system. Construction services will be contracted separately by the City. This pilot project aligns with Pasadena's commitment to carbon-free energy and will help inform future DER strategies by assessing the viability of rooftop wind turbines in the region.
