]recreation and parks master plan update
DeWitt Charter Township, the City of DeWitt, and the DeWitt Area Recreation Authority (DARA) are seeking proposals and statements of qualifications from interested consultants to update the DeWitt Area Recreation Master Plan. DARA, formed in 2003, provides recreation programs and services for approximately 20,000 residents, and the current master plan, adopted in 2022, will expire in 2026. The project will involve examining current and future demographics, citizen preferences, and financial strategies, adhering to guidelines from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The selected consultant will collaborate with representatives and residents to develop actionable recommendations for park land, non-motorized trails, and recreation facility development. The final comprehensive Master Plan will guide future park and recreation-related decisions for DeWitt Township, the City of DeWitt, DARA, and potential partners.
