The City of Grants Pass is soliciting proposals from qualified and licensed elevator contractors to modernize a single, two-stop hydraulic passenger elevator located at Grants Pass City Hall. This elevator was originally installed in 1975. The project aims to bring the elevator into full compliance with the 2024 Oregon Elevator Specialty Code, ensuring it is reliable, accessible, energy-efficient, and safe for the next 20-25 years. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the potential replacement of the hydraulic cylinder and jack, modernization of the control and drive system, upgrades to door equipment, replacement of the car interior, and enhancements to hoistway and safety devices. Electrical and miscellaneous components will also be addressed. The solicitation also includes options for alternate bids, such as replacing the hydraulic cylinder with a telescoping model and a five-year follow-on maintenance contract.
