Delivery of Durable Medical Equipment for Sioux Falls VA Health Care System

This is a Request for Information (RFI) to gauge interest and identify qualified contractors for providing durable medical equipment (DME) services to the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System. The contractor will be responsible for the storage, delivery, installation, repair, and pick-up of government-owned DME, including items such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, and patient lifts. Services are required within three working days of notification, with emergency services needing delivery within 24 hours. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The scope of service covers a broad geographic area including specific counties in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska, with the primary delivery location being the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center. Contractors must be established home and healthcare businesses with the necessary resources and must maintain Joint Commission accreditation or equivalent. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring proper infection control procedures, providing patient education, and performing home safety assessments. The contractor must also accept government purchase cards for payment.
