]fix based operator (fbo) services
Adams County, Colorado is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather insights from qualified firms interested in operating and providing comprehensive Fixed Based Operator (FBO) services at the Colorado Air and Space Port (CASP). CASP, formerly Front Range Airport, is a public-use, general aviation airport with dual-use capabilities as a commercial spaceport. The airport features two 8,000-foot runways, multiple instrument landing systems, extensive ramp areas, and over 50 hangar facilities, currently housing more than 300 based aircraft. The FBO operations are at capacity, necessitating interest from private operators to manage existing facilities and implement planned improvements. The scope of services for a potential private operator includes fuel, parking, and hangarage for general aviation aircraft, servicing of aircraft, provision of necessary service equipment (e.g., tugs, ground power units), courtesy passenger transportation, on-site rental cars, and emergency services for disabled aircraft. The county is seeking feedback on potential arrangement structures (e.g., management contract, lease agreement), transition processes, fuel farm development, joint development opportunities, and terms and conditions for a future agreement. This RFI is for informational and planning purposes only and does not commit the County to any future contract. Information gathered may inform a subsequent Request for Proposals (RFP). Interested firms are required to submit a Letter of Interest by June 26, 2026.
