Automated Pharmacy Storage and Retrieval System RFI
Denver Health and Hospital Authority
Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DHHA) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to gather details on automated pharmacy storage and retrieval systems. DHHA is interested in solutions that can integrate with their existing Epic Inventory services and potentially replace their current Swisslog BoxPicker system, which is nearing its end of life. The scope of interest includes systems capable of managing inventory for a large, 555-bed hospital environment, encompassing unit-dose, multi-dose, and bulk medications. Key requirements include seamless interoperability with Epic Pharmacy Inventory and Pyxis ES Server, comprehensive medication storage for all types of medications including large and bulky items, and end-to-end support including installation, configuration, training, and ongoing maintenance with timely technical assistance. Vendors must also demonstrate robust downtime procedures, usage analytics and reporting capabilities, and compliance with all applicable regulations such as HIPAA and Joint Commission requirements. DHHA is also seeking information on financial considerations, implementation timelines, and change management strategies.
