Passive Smart Container Technology Licensing Opportunity
NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION
NASA's Technology Transfer Program is soliciting inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market their developed Passive Smart Container technology. This system utilizes RFID circuits to identify the fill level within a container, addressing a gap in tracking small, individually untaggable items, which is a challenge for current RFID applications. The technology is suitable for various industries, including healthcare for individual item tracking, pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution for inventory management, and retail and supply chain for inventory control. It is particularly useful for managing inventories of small items like bulk grain foods, liquids, pills, mechanical parts (nuts, bolts, washers), and small electronic components. Companies interested in licensing this technology should submit an application through NASA's Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) by visiting https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/MSC-TOPS-36. For questions, contact NASA's Technology Transfer Program at Agency-Patent-Licensing@mail.nasa.gov. This opportunity is for technology transfer and commercialization, and no follow-on procurement is expected.
