Audit and Tax Services for Peace River Electric Cooperative

Peace River Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking proposals from qualified CPA firms to provide audit and tax services for the years ending 2026 through 2030. The services include an annual audit in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Rural Utilities Services (RUS) accounting requirements, federal filings including Form 990 and Single Audits when applicable, and a management letter communicating any significant deficiencies or material weaknesses in internal control over financial reporting. Meetings with the Board of Directors will also be necessary. The organization operates on a December 31st year-end and requires audited financial statements to be submitted to lenders by April 30th each year. The preferred fieldwork period is February 15-20th, with the audit report to be presented to the Board in March. The cooperative is a 501(c)(12) electric distribution cooperative with annual revenues of $158 million, serving 60,000 members. The Charitable Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Operation Round-up foundation. Proposals are due by June 1, 2026. The Board of Directors will make the hiring decision. The cooperative is acting under the direction of the Board of Directors in sending this request for proposal.
