South King Fire (SKF) is seeking proposals from qualified insurance consulting firms or brokers to provide comprehensive brokerage and advisory services for their self-insured benefit programs. These programs include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability programs, Employee Assistance Programs, COBRA, and Health Reimbursement Accounts/VEBA. The selected firm will be responsible for administrative support, claims assistance and advocacy, risk management, market negotiations, compliance, and strategic planning, including policy and statistical analysis. The scope of services includes evaluating current self-insured programs to recommend improvements that maximize value and cost while maintaining flexibility. The firm will also negotiate with carriers for excess coverage and specialty policies, advise on claims handling, reserves, and settlements, and ensure adherence to state and federal insurance requirements. Additionally, the selected consultant will provide quarterly and annual performance and market trend reports, and offer risk management and safety training for staff. SKF currently serves approximately 966 individuals across its various benefit plans.
