Legal Services for Chappaqua Central School District

The Chappaqua Central School District (CCSD) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure legal services from a qualified and experienced law firm. The anticipated term of engagement is from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with the option for annual renewal. The scope of services includes general legal counsel, collective bargaining and labor relations, litigation, civil rights and First Amendment advisory, tax certiorari services, contract and procurement legal services, and support for the Board of Education and administration. The selected firm must have demonstrated expertise in New York State Education Law, Civil Service Law, Labor Law, and General Municipal Law, with at least ten years of experience representing public school districts or comparable entities. The firm will be expected to assign a consistent representative for at least half a day per week on-site and be available for consultations and emergencies. Proposals will be evaluated based on relevant experience, responsiveness, approach, fee structure, references, and potential interviews.
