Ordinance No. 1537-27
]http://www.sj-r.comThe Springfield Park District, located in Sangamon County, Illinois, is planning to issue alternate bonds with an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $2,000,000. These bonds will fund various park improvements, including the acquisition of land, and the building, maintaining, improving, and protecting of existing park land and facilities. A significant portion of the funding will be allocated to the installation of a solar array and other enhancements to the Nelson Center roof. There is a 30-day period following the publication of the ordinance and notice (May 20, 2026) during which a petition signed by a specified number of voters can be submitted to request a referendum on the bond issuance. If no such petition is filed by June 19, 2026, the bonds will be authorized for issuance. The potential referendum date is November 3, 2026.
