The United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) is issuing a solicitation for the purpose of stabilizing the existing levee to ensure that an existing slope failure cannot activate. The major construction efforts include the installation of soil mix columns, installation of aggregate piers (stone columns), installation of an articulated concrete block mattress revetment system, installation of rock riprap and geotextile, excavation, replacing, and compacting levee embankment soils, placing and compacting soil materials, repair of an existing gatewell structure, and reconstruction/resurfacing of the existing access road. The site has limited ingress and egress from River Levee Road off of West University Blvd in Brownsville and is located directly adjacent to the Gateway International Bridge within the floodway of the Rio Grande. The work is located in Brownsville, Texas. All work shall be completed within one thousand and thirty (1,030) calendar days after the Notice to Proceed.
