Description

The Lincoln Home National Historic Site is soliciting bids for the replacement of two pairs of automatic glass doors at their Visitor Center, located at 426 South 7th Street, Springfield, IL 62701. The existing doors, installed in 2001, have reached the end of their service life and require replacement with new, commercial-grade, aluminum-framed glass swing door systems. Each new system must include ABA-compliant automatic operators, heavy-duty hardware, and air curtains. The work involves removing the existing doors and hardware, and installing new doors that match the existing storefront framing in terms of finish and glazing. The project also requires electrical work for the new door operators and air curtains, to be performed by a licensed electrician. The contractor must exercise extreme care to prevent damage to the historic structure during demolition and construction activities. The period of performance is 120 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, anticipated to begin in July 2026.
