]Farm Contract Labor
Spartanburg County School District Six (SCSD6) is soliciting sealed, fixed-price bids to provide contract labor for the D6 farm. This initiative is part of the District's Farm to School program, aimed at promoting health and providing organically grown produce. The farm, located near Walnut Grove Plantation, has been in operation for over three years and is USDA organic certified. The contract will require the provision of a farm labor crew of 3 individuals for up to 40 hours per week, 4-6 days per week, as needed, with the potential for additional staff during peak seasons. The labor crew will be responsible for field preparation, weed control, planting, growing, harvesting, and cleanup. The contract period is for one year, with the option to renew annually for four additional years, not to exceed a total of five years. All workers must be trained in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and the contractor is responsible for managing payroll and adhering to all federal and state labor laws, including wage and labor laws based on the Department of Labor's Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWR).
