Eielson AFB Historical Newspaper Digitization

This is a one-time service for the digitization of historical newspapers from Eielson Air Force Base's History Office, covering the years 1952-1979. The contractor will scan and process approximately 9,640 newspaper surfaces, converting them into high-quality, searchable digital formats including uncompressed TIFF for archival masters, high-quality JPEG for access, and a multi-page, searchable PDF/A for each issue with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) applied. The project also includes reliable project management and reporting with monthly status reports, and the delivery of the completed digital collection on five external hard drives. Original newspaper volumes will be returned in their archival boxes within six months of receipt. The Period of Performance is 120 calendar days.
