Technology Transfer Licensing Opportunity: Cladding and Freeform Deposition for Coolant Channel Closeout
NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION
NASA's Technology Transfer Program is soliciting inquiries from companies interested in obtaining license rights to commercialize, manufacture, and market a novel additive manufacturing technology for closing out coolant channels in liquid rocket engine nozzles. This Laser Wire Direct Closeout (LWDC) capability reduces fabrication time and allows for real-time inspection during the build process. The technology has been demonstrated on various alloys, including bimetallic parts (copper/super-alloy), and has successfully undergone hot-fire testing under extreme conditions, verifying the reliability of the coolant channel closeout bonds. License rights may be issued on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis and may include specific fields of use. NASA provides no funding in conjunction with these potential licenses. Companies interested in this opportunity should submit a license application through NASA's Automated Technology Licensing Application System (ATLAS) by visiting https://technology.nasa.gov/patent/MFS-TOPS-81. For inquiries, please contact NASA's Technology Transfer Program at Agency-Patent-Licensing@mail.nasa.gov.
