Groundwater Environmental Well Drilling Services

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is soliciting bids for the installation of up to two groundwater environmental wells in Southern St. Louis County. The scope of work includes all labor, tools, materials, equipment, licensing, permits, and other necessities for the legal and correct installation and completion of these wells. The drilling method specified is air-driven/air hammer, suitable for consolidated bedrock formations. Contractors must be registered and licensed with the Minnesota Department of Health as a Well Contractor. The project involves drilling into the Virginia Thompson bedrock formation, with estimated depths for Well 1 (Floodwood WMA) at 250 feet for casing and 350 feet total depth, and for Well 2 (Fermoy WMA) at 65 feet for casing and 225 feet total depth. Each completed well will be finished with a 6-inch diameter locking cap and protected by three 4-inch diameter steel posts. Site disturbance must be minimized, and drill cuttings must be actively managed on-site or disposed of properly. All work must comply with the Water Well Construction Code (Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 103I) and Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4725.
