20th Street Utilities Project

The City of Rock Island is soliciting bids for a comprehensive utilities project along 20th Street, spanning from 7th Avenue to 18th Avenue. This project encompasses the replacement and installation of various underground utilities, including water main work, storm sewer work, and sanitary sewer work. The project also involves significant surface restoration, including pavement removal, cold milling of asphalt and concrete surfaces, installation of aggregate base course, and placement of new concrete pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and pedestrian curb ramps. Additionally, the project includes traffic control measures, thermoplastic pavement markings, and the installation of solar-powered rapid flashing beacons and associated signage. Phase 1 is to be completed by November 30, 2026, and Phase 2 between May 1, 2027, and September 30, 2027. The contract is subject to an IMPACT Agreement with the Illowa Construction Labor and Management Council.
