Delivery of Durable Medical Equipment

This is a Sources Sought Notice to gain knowledge of qualified potential contractors and their socio-economic size classification for Home Health Care Services (NAICS Code 621610). The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System requires services for the storage, delivery, installation, repair, and pick-up of VA-owned durable medical equipment for beneficiaries. This includes items such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, and patient lifts. Deliveries and pick-ups must be completed within three working days of notification, or within 24 hours for emergency services. Services are required Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding federal holidays. The contractor's storage and repair facility must be located within 20 miles of each VA medical center it serves, be a storefront facility, and conform to all applicable fire protection codes and state insurance requirements. Contractors must meet Joint Commission standards or equivalent and provide documentation. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of all equipment and may be held financially liable for lost or damaged government-owned property.
