Winchester Transmission II Project Hearing
Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee
This notice pertains to the Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee's public hearing for the Winchester Transmission II Project. The project involves the construction of a new 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission line, approximately sixteen miles in length. This line will transmit electricity from the Winchester Energy Facility to the regional grid via the Winchester Substation, located in Cochise County, Arizona. A public hearing will commence on June 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Willcox Community Center, 312 W Stewart St., Willcox, AZ 85643. The hearing is scheduled to continue through June 11, 2026. A special evening session for public comment will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, starting at 5:30 p.m., and will continue as needed through Thursday, June 11, 2026. The hearing can be attended in person, listened to via telephone, or watched online. Information regarding online and telephone access will be available on the Project website (https://www.cecwinchestertransmission2.com/) and the Arizona Corporation Commission website (https://www.azcc.gov/arizona-power-plant/hearings-and-meetings). A tour of the project site is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m. Application documents are available for inspection at the ACC Docket Control Center in Phoenix, the Willcox Community Library, and on the Project website.
