Improvements to Demopolis Regional Airport

The City of Demopolis, Alabama is soliciting bids for construction services to improve the Demopolis Regional Airport. The project scope includes grading, drainage, base preparation, paving, electrical work, relocation of an aboveground storage tank, and removal of an underground storage tank. Bids are due by 2:00 PM local time on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Demopolis City Hall. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 10:30 AM in the airport terminal building. The total contract time for completion is seventy-five (75) calendar days, with liquidated damages of $1,000.00 per calendar day for delays. Bidders must be licensed general contractors in Alabama and must display their license number on the bid envelope. Bid security in the amount of five (5) percent of the total bid, not to exceed $10,000.00, is required. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, will be required from the successful bidder. This project may be funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, and is subject to various federal regulations including Buy American Preference, Davis Bacon Act, and civil rights requirements.
