The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District, intends to award a cooperative agreement for land stewardship and restoration services on USACE land in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. This agreement will support environmental stewardship, including the restoration and management of native prairie landscapes and wildlife habitat at various lakes within Lane County. The program aims to provide training and experience for youth participants who are adjudicated with the Lane County Department of Juvenile Justice, allowing them to gain skills in project planning, development, and implementation. Services will include selective removal of invasive vegetation, planting native seeds and stock, irrigation, weeding, mulching, native plant seed collection and propagation, and other habitat restoration tasks. The cooperative agreement will also involve educational components on USACE land management practices, biology, and ecological relations. The anticipated term is a one-year base period with four one-year option periods, with an estimated total funding of $155,000.
