Bedford County Sheriff's Office Expansion

Bedford County is soliciting bids for the construction of a two-story, approximately 15,500 square foot addition to the Sheriff's Office. The expansion will include office, storage, and meeting spaces, a new elevator, and a new entrance. Additionally, limited areas of the existing building will be renovated to reconfigure office spaces and add one new bathroom. Bids will be received until 3:00 PM local time on June 23, 2026. Bidders can submit bids via hard copy to the Finance Department at 122 East Main Street, Bedford, VA 24523, or electronically via email to hknight@bedfordcountyva.gov. Bids will be opened publicly 15 minutes after the deadline in the 3rd Floor Large Meeting Room. A Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for May 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Bedford County Sheriff's Office (1345 Falling Creek Road, Bedford, VA 24523), followed by a site visit. Written questions are due by 3:00 PM local time on June 4, 2026, and should be submitted to hknight@bedfordcountyva.gov using the provided form. A bid security of five (5) percent of the bid amount is required, and the successful contractor must provide performance and payment bonds.
