Sole Source Award Notice: Specialty Wiper Brushes for Currency Manufacturing

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract for "BRUSH, WIPER, SOI PRESS, FOUR ROW, POLYPROPYLENE BRISTLES" (Item # 2M033245). These brushes are specifically used on Super Orlof Intaglio (SOI) Press equipment essential for BEP's currency manufacturing operations. The government intends to award this contract on a sole source basis, citing FAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) as justification, indicating that Gordon Brush MFG. CO. is the only responsible source that can satisfy the agency's requirements. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 333248, All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing. While this is not a request for competitive proposals, any responsible source believing they can fulfill the requirement is invited to submit their interest and capabilities. However, the determination to compete this contract is solely at the discretion of the Government. The required brushes are to be delivered within 120 days after contract award to the Western Currency Facility located at 9000 Bluemound Road, Fort Worth, Texas.
