The Eastern Connecticut Regional Tourism District (ERTD) is soliciting proposals from Certified Public Accounting Firms to perform end-of-year financial reporting and an audit for the 2026 fiscal year. The contract is expected to last for up to three years and will maintain continuity with the prior audit structure, scope, and reporting. The scope of services includes an annual financial audit in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Government Auditing Standards, and the Connecticut State Single Audit Act. The selected firm will be responsible for preparing and issuing a complete audit report package, including basic financial statements, management's discussion and analysis (MD&A), and required supplementary information. The audit will also encompass all required State Single Audit components, with assistance provided for submission to the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management (OPM). Additionally, the firm will provide a letter confirming the District's status as a governmental entity not required to file IRS Form 990. Communication of audit results, findings, and recommendations to management and the Board of Directors is required, along with a management letter if applicable. The audit must be completed in a timely manner to meet all State of Connecticut reporting requirements and funding conditions. The selected firm will provide an annual engagement letter for each fiscal year of the contract term, executed prior to June 30.
