Dental Laboratory Services for Birmingham VA Healthcare System

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive dental laboratory services for the Birmingham VA Healthcare System. This includes the fabrication of various dental prostheses such as complete dentures, removable partial dentures, fixed partial dentures, crowns, and dental implant prostheses. The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of laboratory fabrication, adhering strictly to dental laboratory order specifications and turnaround times. Services include daily pick-up and delivery, fabrication of custom impression trays, cast fabrication, articulation, and the setting, processing, and finishing of various dental appliances. The contractor must be located within a two-hour drive of the Birmingham VA Medical Center to meet the specified turnaround times, which range from two to fifteen working days depending on the complexity of the service. Quality assurance is paramount, with specific guidelines for evaluating the prostheses. The contractor must use high-quality materials and ensure all work meets stringent standards for fit, finish, and occlusion. The contract period is for five years, including a base year and four one-year option renewals.
