The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to replace six (6) historic wooden casemate doors at three (3) casemates located at the Santa Rosa Bastion within the San Juan National Historic Site. This project involves the careful removal of existing doors, fabrication of historically accurate replicas using FSC certified African Mahogany, and installation of these new doors. The work must adhere to federal preservation standards and guidelines, ensuring the restoration and preservation of historically significant structures. The scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the removal, fabrication, and installation. All work must comply with applicable federal, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and local codes, as well as National Park Service Cultural Resource Preservation standards. The contractor will be responsible for site verification, submittals for approval, removal and disposal of existing doors, and fabrication of new doors with historically accurate joinery and finishes. Masonry repair and the installation of historical hardware are also key components of this project. The period of performance is 365 days from the Notice to Proceed.
