Description

Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) is extending the public comment period for a rulemaking that proposes to amend various parts of Pima County Air Pollution Regulations (Title 17). The proposed rulemaking will update incorporations by reference to the Code of Federal Regulations, specifically the New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), and Acid Rain Regulations. This update is necessary to incorporate federal regulations as codified on July 1, 2025, ensuring Pima County's continued compliance with its delegated authority from the EPA. These changes are mandated by federal law and are required annually. Additional information, including the full Notice of Supplemental Proposed Expedited Rulemaking, text of the proposed rule, and information on submitting public comments, is available at www.pima.gov/415. Documents can also be accessed in person at PDEQ at 33 N. Stone Ave., Ste 700, Tucson, AZ 85701. Questions can be directed to PDEQ Rules Manager Abigail Okrent at 520-724-7400 or abigail.okrent@pima.gov, or to sarah.hite@pima.gov.
