Description

The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is inviting applications for the Awards Supporting Cutting-Edge Technologies for Translational Science (ASCETTS) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). This program aims to support the development of highly innovative technologies that address barriers and limitations in translational science, particularly for therapeutic development. The initiative focuses on early-stage proof of concept, high-risk, and potentially high-reward studies for feasibility and exploratory technology development, with the goal of transforming or significantly improving the efficiency of the therapeutic development pipeline. Proposed research should focus on the development and/or prototyping of new technologies that can break new ground or extend current technologies toward novel applications, ultimately leading to improved efficiency in the therapeutic development pipeline. Clinical trials are not allowed under this opportunity. Various applicant types are eligible, including institutions of higher education, governments, non-profits, for-profit organizations (other than small businesses), small businesses, and Native American tribal organizations.
