English Language Learners Professional Development Services

The New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE), on behalf of the Division of English Language Learners and Student Support (DELLSS), is seeking organizations to provide professional development services. These services aim to enhance the capacity of educators, including Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) and Dual Language Enrichment (DLE) teachers, in supporting English Language Learners (ELLs). The professional development will cover areas such as home language literacy, academic language development, and instruction in mathematics, science, social studies, and English language arts. Services may be offered in Spanish and/or other commonly spoken languages by ELLs in New York City public schools, with a focus on improving instructional and academic vocabulary. Additionally, professional development will be provided for K-12 teachers to incorporate English as a New Language (ENL) teaching methodologies into their disciplines, ensuring ELLs can access the core curriculum.
