Description

This funding opportunity, part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), aims to support long-term habitat protection, restoration, or enhancement projects within the Great Lakes coastal zone. The focus is on conserving habitats that support native fish and wildlife populations, particularly migratory birds. Eligible activities include wetland, grassland, and forest restoration, with a preference for projects adjacent to or within 15 miles of Great Lakes coastal waters. Applicants must align their projects with GLRI Action Plan IV and relevant joint venture or bird conservation plans. Funding is provided through grants, with an estimated total program funding of $800,000, expected to support approximately 3 awards ranging from $25,000 to $300,000. A non-Federal matching requirement of 25% of the Federal request is mandatory.
