K-5 General Music Instructional Materials

The Des Moines Public School District is seeking proposals for K-5 General Music Instructional Materials. This includes traditional and non-traditional materials, as well as professional learning opportunities to support teachers in kindergarten through fifth grade general music instruction. The district is interested in innovative and flexible resources that expose students to a wide range of music literacy, games, song tales, Orff orchestrations, and cultural music. The materials should enhance teacher autonomy in instructional design and support the development of critical thinking, notation reading, singing, and playing skills. Emphasis is placed on inclusivity and support for all students, particularly multilingual learners and students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Proposals should include strategies and materials to increase access and equity for these student populations. The district is also seeking professional learning opportunities such as workshops, instructional coaching, and on-demand resources to support the implementation and instructional design of these materials.
