City Attorney Services

The City of Caliente is seeking proposals from qualified law firms or individuals to serve as City Attorney. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive legal services to the City Council, Mayor, and department heads, working closely with city management. Key responsibilities include offering expert legal advice, drafting ordinances and resolutions, and handling matters related to property acquisitions, public improvements, code enforcement, and litigation. The City Attorney is expected to attend all City Council meetings, typically held on the first and third Thursdays of each month, and may be required to attend other board, commission, and committee meetings as needed. Services are anticipated to begin on July 1, 2026.
