Description

This is a Request for Information (RFI) from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for market research purposes regarding a distillation instrument. The EPA is looking for an American-made instrument capable of performing distillations in accordance with ASTM D86 Standard Test Method for Distillation of Petroleum Products at Atmospheric Pressure for Groups 1-4. The instrument must meet specific technical requirements, including interfacing with PAC IRIS software, a self-positioning heating system, a distillation rate of 2-10 mL/min, programmable temperature ranges for the condenser and receiving chamber, automated heater plate and barcode flask detection, dual optimization capabilities, automatic fire detection, and specific dimension constraints. The EPA is aware of a foreign-made product, OptiDist 2, that meets these needs, but is specifically seeking an American-made alternative.
