The California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways is soliciting proposals for comprehensive aquatic vegetation control services. This includes mechanical harvesting, physical control methods, and herbicide application to manage invasive plant species such as water hyacinth, water primrose, alligatorweed, Brazilian waterweed, coontail, curly leaf pondweed, Eurasian watermilfoil, and fanwort in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, Suisun Marsh, and their tributaries. The contract will have a base term of three years with the option for two one-year amendments, for a total of five years. Services will be performed at various designated sites, with work to be managed through Work Orders. The contractor will be responsible for adhering to strict environmental and biological opinion requirements, including those related to endangered species like the giant garter snake and various fish species. Daily status reports will be required, and all work must be conducted in compliance with permits and regulations.
