Fire Extinguisher, Sprinkler, and Multi-Alarm Inspections and Monitoring Services

The City of Huntsville is soliciting proposals for a vendor to provide annual fire extinguisher, sprinkler, security, and fire alarm inspections, monitoring, and repair services. The contract will have a base term from August 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with four one-year renewal options. Services include inspections and repairs to meet all applicable NFPA, City of Huntsville, State Fire Marshall's Office, and Texas Insurance Code requirements. This includes verifying fire extinguisher charge and operability, hydrostatic testing, and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer procedures. For alarm and sprinkler systems, services must meet or exceed all applicable codes and include providing written reports. Monitoring services for fire and security alarm systems, including elevator recall systems, are also required, utilizing cellular connectivity. Panic button monitoring is an option. The City emphasizes that rather than focusing solely on the lowest price, the evaluation will consider factors such as product durability, vendor performance, availability, and delivery to ensure long-term efficiency and value.
