]Zero-Emission Transit Bus Incentive Program
The Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) has established the Zero-Emission Transit Bus Buy-Down Program to incentivize public transit agencies to accelerate their adoption of zero-emission transit buses. This program aims to reduce financial barriers and support the transition to cleaner mobility in the South Coast AQMD region. A total of $25 million in Clean Transportation Funding is allocated for this program. Eligible applicants are public transit agencies regulated under the California Air Resources Board Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) regulation. The program covers battery-electric buses and hydrogen fuel cell buses, including Class 4 through Class 8 heavy-duty buses. Funding can also be requested for eligible battery-electric bus chargers. Incentives are provided on a reimbursement basis upon delivery and acceptance of the buses and chargers, with maximum award amounts varying for large and small transit agencies. Funding requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
