Description

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is soliciting bids for hay harvesting services at Cheney State Park. The contract will be for a term from the date of award through December 31, 2026, with the option to renew for three additional 36-month periods. The primary goals of the haying program are to stimulate native grass growth, enhance wildlife benefits, and control unwanted vegetation. Bids will be evaluated based on the highest cash amount per ton of hay harvested. Bidders may bid on the entirety of the East Side Tracts (Tracts 1-4), the entirety of the West Side Tracts (Tracts 5-8), or both. 100% of the annual rent is due by September 15th. Hay harvesting activities must occur between June 1st and August 31st, and all bales must be removed within seven days of bailing. Any bales not removed by August 31st will become the property of Cheney State Park.
