Description

This invitation for bids concerns the purchase and removal of government-owned pine timber located at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The sale is divided into two items, each with specific estimated volumes of pine sawtimber and pine pulpwood. Item 1 is located in Compartment 31 and comprises approximately 4,021 tons of sawtimber and 1,876 tons of pulpwood. Item 2 is located in Compartment 36 and comprises approximately 1,842 tons of sawtimber and 624 tons of pulpwood. Bidders are cautioned to inspect the property and are responsible for all labor, equipment, and materials required for harvesting and removal. Harvesting operations are subject to military training schedules and environmental restrictions, including a buffer zone around streams and a prohibition on operations during the Red-cockaded woodpecker nesting season (April-June). The total purchase price for both items must be paid in full by August 1, 2027, with an expiration date of September 30, 2027. A bid deposit is required for each item ($20,000 for Item 1 and $10,000 for Item 2), and a performance deposit or bond will also be required upon award.
