The Pennsylvania Department of General Services, through the Lancaster Area Sewer Authority, is soliciting bids for the Charlestown Pump Station Switchgear Replacement project. This project involves a single prime contract for Electrical Construction. The scope of work includes demolition, bypass pumping, electrical service and distribution, switchgear replacement, associated earthwork, utilities, cast-in-place concrete, installation of an electro-magnetic flowmeter and associated piping, and all other necessary work to ensure a fully functional and operable pump station. This includes all specified electrical equipment, appliances, appurtenances, furnishings, instrumentation, controls, accessories, tests, and materials required for a complete and operable installation as per the contract documents and to the satisfaction of the Engineer. Contract documents are available at no cost through the PennBid Program. All questions regarding the contract documents must be submitted via PennBid's "Questions" tab. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 14, 2026, at 10:30 am at the Lancaster Area Sewer Authority office. The project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Bids must be accompanied by bid security of 10% of the bid total, in the form of a certified check, bank check, or bid bond. The lowest responsible bidder must submit the actual bid security within three business days after bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any irregularities.
