Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command, on behalf of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), is seeking innovative solutions for advanced manufacturing Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printer capability. This initiative aims to integrate AdvM FDM print technology at Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) in Texas and Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) in Pennsylvania to address critical readiness gaps in aviation maintenance operations. The goal is to enable rapid fabrication of qualified parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, and ground support equipment to meet obsolescence and readiness requirements. Solutions must include shipping, on-site installation, ancillary equipment, operating software, warranties, feedstock, training, and sustainment. Specific requirements include build envelopes of at least 16x14x16 inches for one printer and 36x24x36 inches for another, with specified build accuracy. The larger printer must also be equipped with a Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) compliant operating system using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL8). The solicitation outlines a phased approach for evaluating solutions, starting with a Solution Brief. The Army is looking for existing, verifiable capabilities that can enhance AMCOM and Organic Industrial Base (OIB) operations, with technical merit and relevance being the most important evaluation factors.
